Self Storage is a great tool to store everything from seasonal items, books, appliances and furniture. We here at Custom Self Storage in Winston-Salem, NC have the perfect place to store all these things. But sometimes there are things that you simply cannot store. To make sure that we are all on the same page, we have composed a list of the things you cannot store.
Plants, animals, bugs, gators, anything that’s alive is a major no-no for self storage. Not only because they might and probably won’t survive being put into a storage locker, but there are also hygiene and safety issues as well. With no sunlight or oxygen available, even the most basic of plants won’t make it, sorry.
It’s called perishable for a reason, and it will go bad and rot. This is something we do not want inside our storage lockers. Rotting food attracts bugs and rodents. Be courteous to others and don’t store perishable items.
This goes for gasoline, fireworks, flare, almost anything that is easily combustible. We care about our self storage facility and would like to keep it safe. If you need to store gas cans, they must be emptied and cleaned to prevent fires. Draining gas from mowers and other equipment should go without saying, but you never know.
Anything that is dangerous to be inhaled or radioactive cannot be stored with us. This poses a risk to the other tenants, and we care about everyone’s safety.
If you have any questions about what can or cannot be stored, be sure to give us a call or email us and we will gladly help you out. It’s always better to ask first, then be turned away. Need Self Storage today? Contact Custom Self Storage now!
