With everyone trying to get that summer body into shape before summer hits, the gyms are very busy and currently not the safest. If you are like us and hate everything about the gym, or just don’t have time to make it all the way to gym, this guide if for you. Learn how to create your own killer home gym.
First thing is first, where are you going to put your home gym? Maybe your kids have moved out and their rooms are free, or the garage is unused. Whichever room you choose make sure it has two things, lots of room and a window. If you pick a room with not a lot of space, your workout will be limiting. A window is for the much-needed airflow, no one likes working out inside a sauna.
You are going to be swimming weights, doing lunges and stretching so make sure you have room. Once you have picked out your room, start removing the unnecessary. If you don’t have space for all the things you are moving out, get a self storage unit.
Depending on if you are a free weight or resistance kind of person will determine which type of gear you get. A simple rack of free weights, or bands and a bench is a good start. If you want to up your game, get a treadmill. We suggest if you are going to buy a treadmill, go for a stair-master instead and run outside.
Hang up a TV for entertainment, grab a big mirror and hang that up too because form is everything. Some speakers in the corners if music is more your style also works well. You also can’t go wrong with some motivational posters.
Now that you have a killer home gym, your summer body will be ready in no time. Good luck!
